Spiritual Profile

Daryl Christensen gave his heart to the Lord on September 4th, 1988 at a men's retreat in Walker, Minnesota. From that day forth, he has followed God's lead in sharing his testimony with thousands of men and women in 70 cities across the United States.

As a professional tournament angler and founder of Great Fish Ministries, Daryl is a natural at catching men. He speaks at men's retreats, sportsman's dinners, fishing clubs, prayer breakfasts, father/son banquets, couple's dinners, trade shows and churches all across the country. In the past decade, thousands have prayed to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior through his speaking and preaching.

He is an active member of his church as well, serving as deacon, Sunday school teacher, small group leader, Bible study leader, worship team member and missions board member during the past 18 years. In addition, he has taught men's classes including 7 Promises of a Promise Keeper and the Man in the Mirror as well as others.

On the Professional Walleye Trail, Daryl is considered the spiritual advisor to many of the anglers as well as the staff. He chairs the meetings of the Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society, a group of Christian fishermen who attend each tournament and gather for spiritual strengthening during the tournament week.

As an author and writer, Daryl shares his belief in Christ in his book, "Journal of a Walleye Pro". His newest book, "Fishin' With a Mission," relates 29 outdoor experiences with a spiritual correlation that is ideal for men's Bible study or small group ministry. His tracts, "Winning the Big One" and "From Loser to Winner" have been distributed to thousands of fishermen around the country.

Daryl believes that Great Fish Ministries is so effective because he can relate so well to those who attend his seminars:"These are men and women who love the outdoors. They love to hunt and fish, just like I do. Most have become tired of "doing church" and religious dryness of the past. They seek the same thing from God that they find in the outdoors: freshness, renewal, and peace. Once they learn that this is exactly what God wants for them, they are open to receiving his free gift of salvation and eternal life."
